TECHNIQUE

1 Intra-follicular unit extraction-

This is the latest technique of hair transplantation; some people also called it direct hair implantation (DHI) technique. We can implant 2000-6000 hairs in a single session depending up on the team and the donor area’s density.

In this technique we can take hairs from any part of the body i.e. beard area, axilla, chest, back etc.

2. Follicular unit transplantation-

In this technique approximately 11 cm long strip of tissue need to be harvested from back or side of the scalp. Maximum we can implant 1000-2500 follicular units only. This technique has got certain limitations and leave scar after surgery, although most of the surgeons still using this technique because of the lack of knowledge.

3. Punch Biopsy-

This is the oldest method of hair transplantation.

In which a small multiple round auto-graft has taken with the help of biopsy punch from the donor area and grafted to the bald area, this procedure is not in demand due to ‘cobble stone phenomenon’.

4. Bio-Hair transplantation-

This technique is very simple and used for completely bald and for those who wants ample density.

In this technique bio-fibers are implanted with the help of implanter into the scalp.

Initially 100 fibers are implanted just to rule out any adverse reaction. If the things going ok with the scalp then you can implant end numbers of fibers.

This procedure will give you very natural look, but they won’t grow.

Foreign body granuloma has been seen in many patients discard the use of these fibers.
